Inclusive Design is the design of an environment so that it can be accessed and used by as many people as possible, regardless of age, gender and disability.

The Eclisse Single Pocket Door System fits this brief by:

  • Being simple, space-saving, elegant and available in a variety of sizes to fit standard door sizes. A minimum clear opening of 800mm is possible (wider widths also available) and so suitable for wheelchair users. As the door is top hung, the flooring can be continued from one room to another seamlessly and without interruption.
  • Being able to accommodate a wide range of standard sized doors 35 or 44mm thick. So this could be a solid plain door, a satin glass door or a door with glazing panels for visibility.

Another advantage is that the Eclisse pocket door system has an adjustable door stop. The door stop is set at the factory to protrude 8cm from the pocket. This can be adjusted to protrude more or less, as required, to allow for a easy to use/grip bar handle to be fixed.

Also unlike with a hinged door, there is no issue of the leading edge posing a hazard for partially sighted people. Therefore it also does not need to be a different colour.

If the doorway requires a hoist track to pass through it then the Classic Hoist Pocket Door System can be used.
